Letter From the President

Dear Business Owner, Another successful year has gone by and the next twelve months promises to continue in an upward direction.  We have seen new housing starts which has enticed new business to open up in the downtown core as well as the area. The Chamber of Commerce had a very busy year hosting a successful Spring Trade Show and the popularity of the Carving Championship is increasing and encouraging more visitors to stop and look around.  The Chamber has also been awarded the contract to continue to operate the Visitor Centre for the next four years. Included in your membership package are many offers that you as a Chamber member can take advantage of, competitive pension, medical and dental plans, reduced Visa/MasterCard, Interact rates and other deals you can use for your business.We need your involvement in the chamber. Your input as a member helps to give us strength. We continue to seek direction from our members to allow us to direct our time and efforts for the things that are important to you the business person. We are in need of Board Members for the upcoming year.  So if you have some ideas and would like to see them happen, join the board.  The board meets on the 2nd Wednesday of the month. The AGM is Wednesday November 7th at 7:00pm at the Pomeroy Inn and Suites Conference room.  So plan to attend this important meeting and be willing to let your name stand for a position with the Chamber. Enclosed is your Membership Renewal Invoice for 2008/2009.  As well there is a member application sheet. Please fill in the information so we may update our records.  Contact people, E-mails etc do change and our office would like to ensure we have the correct information in regard to your business.  Please check the rate table to ensure we are invoicing you correctly, it may be that your employee numbers have increased or decreased over the past 12 months.  If you find this is the case please call the office and they will issue you a new invoice.Daniel Rothlisberger
