25th Annual Chetwynd Trade Show postponed
(CHETWYND, MARCH 13/2020) - Following lengthy discussions over the past several days -- as well as today’s announcement from Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry recommending all events with a gathering of more than 250 people be cancelled -- the Chetwynd Chamber of Commerce Spring Trade Show has been postponed to help in the prevention of the spread of Covid19 (Coronavirus).
“This is the responsible thing to do given the current situation,” Executive Director of the Chetwynd Chamber of Commerce, Naomi Larsen said. “We need to keep our community and our vendors safe.”
In the meantime, the Chetwynd Chamber of Commerce is asking our community to be vigilant and stay informed with the most recent information from information supplied by the BC Provincial Health Officer, Health Canada and the WHO.
BC Provincial Health Officer:
Thinking about our community, please reference the information above and observe and communicate the recommended protocols:
Frequent handwashing & covering your face when coughing/sneezing
Stay home if sick (and create a culture where this is encouraged)
Leverage technology and consider remote work for your team when possible
In the meantime, the Chetwynd Chamber of Commerce plans to reschedule the show when it is safe to do so.
“In the meantime, we will remain hard work – even if we are at home to serve our members during this challenging time,” Larsen said.
